Would like to try the facility

Posted by Reneerose on 4/8/2009

I just moved to San Antonio, I travel with my job, but I am an avid gym goer. I use the site GymTicket, com to find the best gyms in my new town, but I can't find Women's Super Fitness on there? That makes me wonder about the quality of this facility.

Unsatisfied with the Gym

I signed up with them in November and was not told about all the changes that were planned. Their Kidzone is now only available by contract. They used to offer a drop in rate; no longer an option. The childcare facility is also closed on Saturdays. Not convenient for me at all. Then they decide to close the gym all together on Sundays. Furthermore I was told that there will no longer be any childcare after this year. I am so dissatisfied, but stuck in a 3 year contract.

I know change can be frustrating. Please know that when you enrolled in November, the staff was unaware of the changes that were to take place come the new year and in no way meant to deceive you. Our new owner, as of December 08, is committed to not only staying open in these tough economic times, but actually growing and increasing our number of locations, and therefore has to look at all the areas in which we were loosing money. The kids club, surprisingly, was and is only being utilized by about 3% of our members and we loose tons of money every year keeping this amenity available. At the end of the year, when we close the KidzKlub, if you are still unhappy and unable to use the gym we will allow you to cancel your membership at that time. I hope that it works out and you are able to stay with us and enjoy the other amenities we offer, like free personal training/program development every month, a woman's only environment, and great classes like Zumba, Pilates/Yoga, and Kickboxing. Please feel free to call me at any time to schedule your free training.

Management or New Owners

Although the idea of having an 'all' women's gym in San Antonio is great, sometimes things are not what they seem to be. I have belonged to this gym for quite sometime, and have seen changes from management that I do not agree with. Last December a 'restructuring' of their management team took place, and changes came along. The old management team that attened the Bandera location was moved to the Military facility. Personal trainers were removed, that service is no longer available. A decision was made to close the Gym on Sunday as well. And of course the class instructors were removed and classes changed. This gym used to offer an excellent Salsa/Zumba class on Monday and Tuesday, and was saturated with women, because of how good it was, this is no longer available, instead they have an instructor that totally changed this to an 'aerobic' class and her high pitch voice is unbearable. Their new manager is a snob, and ger answer to every question is 'sorry, you can go to the other facility if you don't like it here'... For what they charge, this gym is dirty at the end of the day there are usually no paper towels available in the bathrooms, Sunday's are closed, no swimming pool, no salsa classes, the manager has no customer skills, etc., I believe they will be loosing customers.

We want Gloria back !

We were extremely happy with this gym until they decided to move our inspirational trainer without notice and no explanation for such a (sneaky) move. She (Gloria) was the very reason for our dedicated efforts and progressive health. She moved us to better ourselves. When such drastic decisions are made, they should consider the member's personal needs and what makes them a happy customer. This was a 5 star to us but without the superstar, we rate it at a 3 star. We want Gloria back !

Goodness Gracious Gloria (GGG)

I had joined this club by word of mouth referral. I truely enjoyed it until they moved my motivational trainer. I had finally felt like I had built a trustful relationship with my trainer. She would instill the encouragement I needed to practice healthy habits. This management decision to relocate her will definately have an impact on many happy members. We will be greatly inconvienence and will also be relocating to follow GGG. She is certainly worth our health choice. Good Luck with your business decision.
