We were harrassed by this therapist every time we meet for the family session. She would dictate us how to run OUR family and then the conversation would turn into an argument. She told us that she had observed that our family had a structured lifestyle which is NOT suitable for our daughter, when she did not even visit our home before. We certainly DO NOT need Laurel Ridge therapist to run our household! Then, this woman insisted we visit Laurel Ridge at least 2-3 times a week, citing examples of other parents who visit daily for lunch and dinner with their kids there. When we said that we need to work during the week and could only come in the evenings or weekends, she said that no therapist likes to go that extra mile to accomodate our time. She also said that we should throw everything aside, including our work, and come to Laurel Ridge to show our daughter that she is the top priority above everything else. Then, she mentioned that if we do not show up as frequently as she suggested, our insurance company, Tricare would not pay. It seems to me that she is more interested in the insurance MONEY than caring for the patients. She did not even care that we have a 4-year old living at home with us and we have other obligations to fulfill. The thing that touched our nerves is that on every visit, she would bring up the subject of our daughter being molested when she lived with her mom and her boyfriend. We knew that and we also know that her rehabilitation in Laurel Ridge Treatment Center is mend her emotional wound and train her to come home feeling better. We want to go on with our lives but this woman kept bringing the subject up, rubbing salt into our wounds every time she lost the argument! This is not ethical for a therapist to do. It is harrassment! Instead of working WITH us, she is working AGAINST us, how could she expect us to talk with her in the family counseling session when she keeps bullying us? Dear reader, you judge. We need not say more.
